Of Geese and Turkeys

I was driving my children to a playground near our house and passed by this turkey roaming freely by the rice field. A very common sight for me when I was much younger but not anymore. Everyone from my generation who grew up in kampong will have a story to tell about being chased by geese and turkeys. This image makes me thinking about the disappearance of this birds and other species that we are so used to be living close to us human. Will the future generation be able see what I used to see?

Hey there, thank you for visiting www.suzanne-lee.com and for your comment on my blog page. (it really IS underutilized, isn't it?) it's true what you feel about the wild birds. now many people go to a bird park and zoo to take 'wild'life photos. when i was in india a few years ago, i revelled in the sightings of wild peacocks all around me in the little villages. something that sounds like a fairy tale.. it was unbelievable the first time i saw wild peacocks, drenched in rain, sitting in small trees by the railway. magical!
