Dorsal pov

Fungi

It is interesting to discover many different types of fungi around us. Most of these species were captured around my workplace and we can easily Google for their IDs. Most of them are brackets fungi (polypore) and button mushrooms. I was surprised to know that ages of 50-70 years have been recorded for some species of bracket fungi. Thanks for viewing.

Defeated

I am feeling a bit defeated at the moment and I really have no idea for what reason. I feel really out of sorts. My mind is in a bit of a fog - blurry and out of focus. I guess my anxiety is manifesting itself in avoidance - I just want to disappear. I am not looking forward to long and endless meetings next week. Now, I got it. That must be reason – thinking about that is kinda depressing.

Zorki-4 experience

When I received Zorki 4 in the mail, I am impressed with the built which felt like a brick in my hand. It comes with Jupiter 8 lens but I decided to swap the lens with Industar-61 for the test roll. Shooting with this camera is an agonizing experience as I am not used to this kind of camera before. For tired eyes with glasses, the VF is far from being helpful. Even with the RF patch working, it was strenuous for me to get the focus right. The reason that I opted for the black barrelI-61 is the high visibility of the markings on the barrel. Most of my shots were predetermined by the focusing zone first before I could fine tune with the focus (if I have some luck). The camera is cool around the neck and when the result came back from the lab, more surprises waited for me because the image quality looks very good to me.

OM Zuiko 100mm f2.8

Our short trip to Lye Huat Garden in Napoh gave me enough opportunity to play around with my OM Zuiko 100/2.8 lens. I love the look of the soft backgrounds that I get with a telephoto for close-ups. I also really like the ability to get a different background bokeh. The ability to get close shots at the subjects and eliminating the ugly sight of the cage is well appreciated . Since depth of field is so shallow with a telephoto, it is very important to pay attention to exactly where your focus is which is not too difficult with manual lens.
